Fox News host Sean Hannity has officially gone to war with fellow host Megyn Kelly after she accused him of being a “safe space” for Donald Trump to speak.
Daily Mail reported that Kelly made this comment during an interview with political pundit Stuart Stevens about how Hillary Clinton and Trump are approaching Sunday’s second debate.
“They are both in their own version of a presidential protection program,” Kelly said on The Kelly File. “They’ve designed her situation so she is not in a place she feels uncomfortable or where anything unexpected could come at her. And Donald Trump, with all due respect to my friend at 10:00, will go on Hannity and pretty much only Hannity and will not venture out to the unsafe spaces these days, which doesn’t exactly expand the tent for either one of them.”
Hannity was enraged by Kelly’s comments, and he immediately took to Twitter to respond by calling his fellow Fox News host a Hillary Clinton supporter.
[email protected] u (sic) should be mad at @HillaryClinton Clearly you support her. And @realDonaldTrump did talk to u (sic),” Hannity wrote.
Kelly has not yet responded to Hannity’s tweet.
Kelly has been alienating Fox News fans for over a year now with her regular attacks on Trump as she attempts to appeal to a more mainstream audience. Unfortunately for her, her efforts have backfired, and she’s ended up seeing her ratings plummet dramatically.
